Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the IB Security Assistant 2025 recruitment, you must meet the following criteria as of the last date of application.

1. Educational Qualification

Essential: You must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or its equivalent from a recognized Board of Education.
Domicile: You must possess a domicile certificate of the state against which you have applied.
Local Language: Knowledge of one local language/dialect as listed in the official notification for the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB) you are applying to is mandatory.

2. Age Limit

Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 27 years
Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories as per government rules. SC/ST candidates get a 5-year relaxation, OBC candidates get 3 years, and Ex-servicemen and other categories receive relaxation as per norms.

Selection Process: A Three-Tier Examination

The IB Security Assistant selection process is a three-stage procedure designed to test a candidate’s knowledge, language proficiency, and personality.

Phase I: Tier-I Exam (Online)

This is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) that serves as the initial screening.

Total Questions: 100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks.
Sections: The exam is divided into five parts with 20 questions each:

Part-I (Translation): You must translate a passage of 500 words from a local language/dialect to English and vice versa. This test is for 40 marks and has a duration of 1 hour.
Part-II (Spoken Ability): For the Security Assistant/Executive post, a spoken ability test of 10 marks is also conducted. This part is assessed during the Tier-III interview. The minimum qualifying marks for the Tier-II exam are 20 out of 50.

Phase III: Tier-III Exam (Interview/Personality Test)

Candidates who qualify in both Tier-I and Tier-II will be called for the final stage. This is a crucial round that carries 50 marks. It evaluates your confidence, communication skills, mental alertness, and overall suitability for the job.

Salary & Job Profile

The IB Security Assistant post is a Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted position with a very attractive salary package and a dynamic job profile.

Pay Scale: The basic pay for the post is ₹21,700/- to ₹69,100/- (Level 3 as per the 7th Pay Commission).
Total Salary: In addition to the basic pay, you will receive a Special Security Allowance (SSA) of 20% of your basic pay, along with other Central Government allowances like DA, HRA, and TA. The in-hand salary is approximately ₹30,000 to ₹35,000 per month.
