Eligibility Criteria: Are You Eligible to Apply?
Before you start the application process, it is mandatory to check if you meet all the eligibility criteria set by the Indian Air Force. The eligibility is based on three main factors: age limit, educational qualification, and physical standards.
1. Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 17.5 years
- Maximum Age: 21 years
- Date of Birth Range: Candidates must be born between 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (both dates inclusive).
2. Educational Qualification
The educational qualification varies for candidates applying for “Science Subjects” and “Other than Science Subjects.”
- For Science Subjects:
- Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (10+2) or an equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized Board.
- They must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- OR
- Passed a Three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the diploma course.
- OR
- Passed a Two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects of Physics and Mathematics with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- For Other than Science Subjects:
- Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (10+2) or an equivalent examination in any stream from a recognized Board.
- They must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- OR
- Passed a Two-year Vocational Course from a recognized Board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
3. Physical Standards
Meeting the physical standards is a crucial part of the selection process. Candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Height:
- Male Candidates: Minimum 152.5 cm
- Female Candidates: Minimum 152 cm
- For candidates from North-East/Hilly regions of Uttarakhand, the minimum height is 147 cm.
- For candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum height is 150 cm.
- Chest (For Male Candidates):
- Minimum chest circumference: 77 cm
- Minimum chest expansion: 5 cm
- Weight: Should be proportionate to height and age.
- Hearing: Normal hearing is required, with the ability to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
- Dental: Should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.
Air Force Agniveer Vayu Selection Process 2025
The selection process for the Agniveervayu Intake 02/2026 is a multi-stage process designed to assess the candidate’s physical, mental, and medical fitness. It comprises three main phases:
Phase 1: Online Written Test
- This is a computer-based online test.
- Candidates opting for Science Subjects will have a 60-minute test covering English, Physics, and Mathematics based on the 10+2 CBSE syllabus.
- Candidates opting for Other than Science Subjects will have a 45-minute test covering English, Reasoning, and General Awareness (RAGA).
- For candidates opting for Both Science and Other than Science Subjects, the exam duration is 85 minutes, covering all the aforementioned subjects.
- Marking Scheme: 1 mark for every correct answer, and a deduction of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
Phase 2: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Adaptability Test
- Candidates who clear the Phase 1 online test will be called for Phase 2.
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
- 1.6 Km Run: To be completed within 7 minutes (for male candidates) and 8 minutes (for female candidates).
- Push-ups: 10 push-ups in 1 minute (for male candidates only).
- Sit-ups: 10 sit-ups in 1 minute (for male candidates) and 1.5 minutes (for female candidates).
- Squats: 20 squats in 1 minute (for male candidates) and 15 squats in 1 minute (for female candidates).
- Adaptability Test-I: This test is conducted to assess a candidate’s suitability for deployment in various geographic terrains, weather, and operational conditions.
- Adaptability Test-II: This test evaluates the candidate’s ability to adapt to the Indian Air Force environment and the military way of life.
Phase 3: Medical Examination
- Candidates who successfully clear all stages of Phase 2 will be provisionally called for a medical examination.
- The medical test will be conducted by an authorized Air Force Medical Team and will include a detailed check of the candidate’s general health, dental health, hearing, vision, and other medical standards.
